What is Tennis Elbow?

Tennis elbow, also known as lateral epicondylitis, is a common condition that affects the arm and elbow. It is caused by overuse of the forearm muscles and tendons, which can result in pain and inflammation of the lateral epicondyle, the bony bump on the outside of the elbow.



The symptoms of tennis elbow include:

-Pain and tenderness on the outside of the elbow

-Weakness in the forearm

-Stiffness in the elbow

-Decreased grip strength

How to treat tennis elbow pain ?

Treatment for tennis elbow typically involves a combination of rest, ice, and over-the-counter pain medications.

Physical therapy, exercises to improve strength and flexibility, and bracing or taping the affected arm can also be effective. All the exercises which is to be done during tennis elbow pain is shown here

In some cases, a doctor may prescribe a corticosteroid injection to reduce pain and inflammation. In severe cases, surgery may be necessary.

How to prevent tennis elbow pain ?

-Stretching and strengthening exercises for the forearm muscles

-Using proper technique when playing tennis or engaging in other repetitive arm movements

-Wearing an elbow brace or support band

-Taking regular breaks to rest the arm
